In a totalitarian state, a writer who specializes in blood-soaked horror stories finds himself under suspicion for a series of gruesome murders that mimic the content of his writings. As he's interrogated by two brutish policemen, his purported innocence—and that of his mentally-retarded brother—becomes increasingly suspect. Abuse, torture, and child-killing abound; this play is not for the squeamish.

Reviews
- The British Theatre Guide | Peter Lathan | 2005
"In spite of the blackness . . . there is much humour (of, of course, the black variety). It's in the script, of course, but the performances of the four main protagonists - Jim Norton as policeman Tupolski, Ewan Stewart as his subordinate Ariel, Lee Ingleby as writer Katurian and Edward Hogg as his spastic brother - make effective use of every opportunity."
- The Argus | February 17, 2005
"This is wonderfully hard-hitting theatre, which provides plenty of food for thought - which is exactly what theatre should do. . . . Make sure you see this play."
- BBC: Manchester | Richard Turner | March 8, 2005
". . . Jim Norton and Ewan Stewart are excellent in the good cop, bad cop roles." Nice pic of Ewan, too.
